Prepare the two napkins to make the Spanish Flag
To make a flag napkin inspired by Spain ,grab a red and yellow napkin that has the same size. Take note that it should be a square napkin which is either made of cloth or paper.
Fold the yellow napkin crosswise in half. For the red napkin, place it underneath the yellow folded napkin.
Position the yellow napkin partly on top of the red napkin. See image above on where you should position the napkin.
Shape the table napkin into a flag
Fold the bottom part of the red napkin on top of the yellow napkin.
Now comes the tricky part. The red horizontal area of the top and bottom red napkin should have a similar height like the actual flag of Spain. Adjust the height by folding a part of the napkin to the back.
The last step is to trim the edge of the flag a bit. Do this by folding a part of the right and left side to the back. Once done, the Spanish napkin flag is done!
Extra Tips
- What's pretty cool about this special napkin folding is that you can turn it into a different country's flag by switching the colors. There are some flags that you need three colors of napkin to make their national flag.
- Turn it into the flag of Austria by using a red and white napkin. Same goes for the country of Latvia except you need to make the middle part thinner and the red napkin darker.
- There are some flags that you need three colors of napkin to make their national flag like Thailand. Stack a red napkin at the bottom, then a white napkin and dark blue napkin.
